 I am not of this world!

The title of this message takes me back to my youth, before I was Christian, when I heard this expression: "I am not of this world," from a young preacher, very elegantly dressed in a suit and tie, who knocked on my door to share the message of the gospel. I thought to myself, "It's a good thing you're not of this world, because with that impressive facade, what would you be like if you were?"

Today, as a Christian, a child of God, I can use the same expression as the young man with the same meaning that I didn't understand at the time.  I want my life to have a plan and purpose focused on loving God above all things and loving my neighbor as myself, far removed from false gods (Santería, witchcraft, satanic rituals), idols like money, fame, and power that corrupt you and incite you to do things completely contrary to God's will (wickedness, theft, kidnapping, murder, extortion, and so many more). These things encourage you to develop harmful habits (alcohol, drugs, pornography, procrastination, gambling, gluttony, etc.) and destructive feelings (selfishness, hatred, pride, vanity, jealousy, bitterness, resentment, hopelessness, etc.), values ​​far removed from the basic principle of God's love for the creation of a perfect man, like Jesus, made to do good works. It is to this world that the Christian refers when using the expression "I am not of this world."  So continue living a happy life, detached from the world and following God's wise counsel in His Word. Read the Bible and encourage others to do their best for their lives, for God's glory.
